While in Berchtesgaden, we visited the Dokumentati While in Berchtesgaden, we visited the Dokumentationszentrum Obersalzberg museum. During the 19th century, Obersalzberg is a popular tourist destination, bringing in holiday makers from both Germany and Austria, however this changed when Hitler purchased the mountain house (Kehlsteinhaus/Eagle’s Nest) and cordoned off a large part of area and had everyone evacuated. ⛔️ I could see the appeal- it’s truly a beautiful place, with equally magnificent views and fresh mountain air. 🏔I was humbled by the opportunity to learn more about the region’s past, and thankful for the peace we now enjoy here. 🕊
I love exploring the farmers’ market 👩‍🌾 I love exploring the farmers’ market 👩‍🌾. There’re just so many different things to see, smell and taste! Unlike back home in Singapore where we can enjoy the different veggies 🥦 all year round, here we only get them when they are in season. During the colder months, think 🎃, squash and other root veggies to make the cosiest soups and stews.

Freiburg im Breisgau is a vibrant, historical university city South-west of the Schwarzwald 🏔. Attractions include: ⛪️Freiburger Münster, the grand cathedral with a unique gothic tower. 🗿 Augustiner Museum - art museum in a former monastery church. ☕️ Many quaint cafes, bars, and great restaurants to discover. 🛍 Aside from the big chains like H&M, do check out the little boutiques selling vintage items, cute housewares and unique souvenirs to bring home! Preparations for the Christmas markets 🎄 were in full swing when we were there, only to be shut when Germany issued a nationwide closure due to the rising number of COVID cases 😢. We did a winter road trip across South Germany, an We did a winter road trip across South Germany, and visited so many great sights! We got to experience the Triberg waterfalls, with a descent of 163m, it’s one of the highest waterfall in Germany. A must-go when you’re visiting the Schwarzwald (Black Forest). 🏔 We didn’t hike all the way to the top as the route was closed. But we still enjoyed a refreshing walk and a magnificent view sans crowds!
When in Amsterdam, you’ve really gotta try the S When in Amsterdam, you’ve really gotta try the Stroopwaffel. They’re unlike any I’ve tasted in other cities.

Happiest New Year to all! It's the first week of J Happiest New Year to all! It's the first week of January and most kids have gone back to school, and adults are back to work and gearing up for the new year ahead.⁣ ⁣ My goal for 2022 is simple, but requires a lot of hard work. I hope to be more productive this year, both offline and online. ⁣ ⁣ Most of you are probably unaware of this, but in 2021, I set up a blog to not only have a dedicated space to share my stories in long-form and hone my skills as a writer #bloggerlife. I also took the opportunity to use it as a portfolio. After being in the customer service line for six years, I had minimal experience in the career I wanted to pursue, which is... Copywriting. 🎉⁣ ⁣ I've made friends in the blogging community, which is still going strong by the way, and was initially nervous to share it here with all you wonderful people who know me personally. My blog serves as a little hobby and an escape, so do check it out when you can! (Link in Bio!). Here's wishing you a wonderful year ahead, and stay healthy always!
We visited Zaans Schans, a free open air museum wh We visited Zaans Schans, a free open air museum which featured a collection of old school windmills. ⁣ ⁣ Windmills are traditionally used for milling grains, corn and spices, and even tobbaco and limestone to create concrete. In Netherlands, windmills are used to pump water from lakes to make way for land, and also for industrial purposes.⁣ ⁣ The Zaan Schans open air museum is free for all, though a nominal fee is required if you wanna enter and explore the windmill. We went on a gloomy day, but thoroughly enjoyed the rustic setting, the little cheese and wooden clogs factories, and the beautiful lake views.
