1 Syawal is the day where Muslims all over the world celebrate after a full month of fasting. BUT that doesn’t mean you forget about all the good things you’ve practised during the past month. Ramadhan could have changed you for the better, good for you!
This is my very first (of many more to come) Raya away from family, away from home. Hate to be out working, but glad that it’s nearing the end of my trip so I wouldn’t miss MUCH. The celebrations were held at our place this year, hence I got my baby sis to Skype call me. Got to have a chat with my parents, grandma and sisters before the crowd came, and when they did… I got to see them all.
Watching the chaos, seeing the happy faces from miles away made me forget for a few minutes that I was alone in a cold hotel room. When I eventually pressed the button to hang up, I was overwhelmed by the silence that filled the room. No more kids laughing, aunties chattering and my cousins trying to fill me in on the latest goss. *SOBS* This weekend will make up for lost time, I promise!
Arriving in Melbourne at almost 3 pm today, I was ecstatic because it was the final leg of my super long work trip. What was more awesome, were the company waiting for me as soon as I arrived at the hotel. Four of my good friends were there too, and we’ve decided to dress up in our baju kurung and have a little bit of fun.

My baju kurung was something I made for home use, hence it wasn’t as fancy as Ash’s and Tia’s. Tia made sambal sotong and had lontong that was so damn delish, I can’t wait to go home!
Meeting them on the last day of my trip is by far THE MOST memorable thing that happened to me the past two weeks. Now, I am going to countdown the hours I get to board that aircraft and make my way home.
Toodles!
