Those who have been following me on Instagram would have known that I’ve been travelling around India at the end of May, and beginning of June. I’ve had the best time there with friends, journeying from the south to the north.
Our main purpose going there was for our friend, Manoj’s wedding in Namakkal, about two and a half hours drive from the town of Tiruchirapalli, South India. From there, we decided to take advantage of whatever leaves we managed to acquire and do some exploring. This was the first trip I did with a bunch of friends since my Thailand trip 2.5 years ago and boy, had it been epic.
From the five of us, we bumped into Puneet in the aircraft where he had decided just that afternoon that he’d be going to the wedding, to seven of us (we met Arafath’s childhood friend, Azar at Trichy Airport) in Namakkal before we split 4:3, with the boys (Arafath, Azar, Joseph and Ummar) heading to Chennai and the other three (Puneet, Sushan and myself) being spoilt for choice. We eventually met up in Pondicherry and spent a day before heading back to Chennai.
Monday came and of the seven, Azar stayed at home in Chennai, Puneet flew to Mumbai for work, Sushan and Arafath flew home to Singapore and Joseph, Ummar and I continued our journey North to Delhi. We saw the Taj Mahal, in Agra and did some exploring of Delhi before Ummar and I continued on our final leg to Jaipur.
Of course, we had to face a few challenges along the way, like changing our plans at the last minute because we found we didn’t have the time… and enduring the summer heat… all will be elaborated in the next few posts.
Do stay tuned!
