It has been a month since I took my three luggages and moved to Doha. The past month had been pretty awesome and hectic at the same time. My days are so hectic they leave little room for me to miss home. But through the gaps where I am free to do whatever I want, yes, I miss home.
I first discovered TheSmartLocal while scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed. God knows what it was about, but I was so hooked to the articles, I spent hours hopping from one post to another. It prides itself on being Singapore’s Leading Travel and Lifestyle portal.
The local contents are mostly written by legit Singaporeans (you know, those born and bred here or have been living here for awhile to know what they are talking about). Be it about the events that are happening over the weekend or brunch places recommendations, each post is highly engaging and I am most attracted to the accompanying pictures.
Personally, I’ll keep coming back to a website with a great layout. The more minimal it is, the classier and more pictorial content they offer, the better. What I enjoy about TSL is how personal the content is. These are product reviews from people who’s actually used the product, travelogues from people who had been lucky enough to experience things outside Singapore.
Being a true blue Singaporean, my cursor will automatically hover over the Food section. One that caught my attention was the list of 20 Best Halal Restaurants in that exist in Singapore. Not only the list was pretty extensive, but the comments section were bursting with more suggestions.
Of course, where there’s a comment box, there are bound to be trolls and over emotional people. Those make the comments more entertaining to read TBH. Heh.
To those at home who need quality suggestions on what to do, or where to go for dates etc.. and those like me away from home who want to catch up on the things happening at home, have a look at TSL, you won’t be disappointed.
Brb while I drool over truffle fries and annoyed they decided to start home delivery the day I LEFT home. Hmph.
